Just an update.....

Brayden has yet another loose tooth - two more to be exact.  This tooth fairy is going to be a busy bee I'm afraid.  Better be prepared, children do not take debit cards :-)

Soon Brayden will start playing t-ball and Britton is going to be an assisant coach.  They are already practicing on hitting and catching - Brayden does not like the catching part - he only wants to be the batter, which does not consist of running, just simply hitting the ball.  We shall see how the season is, should be interesting.  Last weekend, Brayden and I went to the Kansas City Zoo. We enjoyed the beautiful spring weather, got in a good walk and saw a lot of animals.

Britton is still training for his trathlon, which is in May.  He is doing very well at training and is very dedicated.  I'm proud of him for working so hard.  He is also looking at more events to participate in throughout the summer months - some are in the St. Louis area!!

Skate Partayyy!

A few weeks ago, one of Brayden's friends had a skate party.  This was Brayden's first time going to a skate rink.  He was excited to go, but once he arrived he was a little shell shocked.  Once his skates were on, Britton took him out on the floor - boy, did Britton get a work out?!?  Of course, I stayed out to take photos!!  Brayden was getting frustrated, so luckily the rink had skates that would not go backwards.  He skated much better in these skates and enjoyed skating.

Taylor Swift

On April 2, 2010 I took Riley to her first ever concert!  On stage were Gloriana, Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift.  We had such a great time.  The concert was amazing and full of energy - we loved it!  I also had some "girl" time.  Riley and I got a manicure and pedicure, out to eat and, of course, went shopping!

I cannot believe Riley is 8 already!  Where has the time gone?  I still think she needs to be a little baby, but we all know time cannot stand still.  Spending the weekend with Riley was so much fun - I also realized just how smart, caring and helpful she is.  Her parents have surely done a great job!  I love you Riley ~ we will have to plan more "girl" time together.

The Tooth Fairy's First Visit

First Loose Tooth

Brayden had his first loose tooth on Sunday, February 22, 2010.  At first he was very scared and upset, but then became excited because he thinks he is going to be a grown-up soon!  I told him it was one of the first many steps to becoming a grown-up.

The Day Brayden Lost His First Tooth!

This morning (March 3, 2010) he woke up and his tooth was gone.  Britton and Brayden searched for his tooth and could not locate it anywhere.  We thought he had swallowed it throughout the night.  Brayden told his Grandma, "maybe it just walked away."  When I spoke with him he said, "I think I swallowed my tooth, but it's ok, I'll just pee it out."  Where do these ideas come from?  I reassured him this would not happen and explained, if he did swallow his tooth, how it would come out of his body.

The Night Before the Tooth Fairy Visits

Tonight, before bed, he put his tooth in a 'Tooth Saver' treasure box Ms. Cynthia gave him at school and placed it in his Tooth Fairy Pillow Mami made him.  He was excited about getting money in the morning!!  Britton told him the Tooth Fairy would come see him, but really it's just mommy and daddy - he didn't believe him - Yeah!!  I'm glad he believes the Tooth Fairy will visit him.

Wow....the things little boys say......

Brayden came up to Britton and I and said, "I know what a bull is."  I answered, "You do? What is it?"  "An animal" Brayden replies.  I told him "good job!  Do you know that you are an animal too?"  His response, "Yes, duh."  I, in turn, asked him, "Well, what animal are you?"  And with the most serious answer, Brayden says, "I'm a squirrel."  Really? A squirrel?  Why in the world would he think he were a squirrel?  It doesn't really matter why - it was hilarious.  I let him know he was a human and he was in the mammal categories - he did not take any interest in my response, but at least he was told correctly.

Brayden went to his first hockey game last night and had a great time!  He was so shocked and surprised by everything.  He LOVED it!  During intermission a team of very young children came out to play, Brayden immediatley became angry because he wanted to be out there playing.  Now he would like to try playing hockey - along with soccer and baseball!  We cheered the Missouri Mavericks to a 3-0 win!  Below are photos from the game, Brayden eating a blue snow cone, cheering on the team and a little play action.  Enjoy!
